Este es un texto para un curso de un trimestre o un semestre de probabilidad, dirigido a estudiantes que han realizado un año de cálculo. El libro está organizado para que un estudiante pueda aprender las ideas fundamentales de probabilidad de los primeros tres capítulos sin depender del cálculo. Los capítulos posteriores desarrollan estas ideas aún más utilizando herramientas de cálculo. El libro contiene más de la cantidad habitual de ejemplos elaborados en detalle.Lo más valioso para que los estudiantes aprendan de un curso como este es cómo detectar un problema de probabilidad en un nuevo entorno y relacionarlo con el cuerpo de teoría estándar.
