Summary, etc. "Considerando su amplitud y alcance, el presente documento responde a la necesidad de contar con protocolos para el desarrollo de la Biotecnología a escala de laboratorio, relativamente sencillos y asequibles. No fue fácil reunir en un texto la experiencia de las autoras, quienes iniciaron su labor docente en este tema, a través de la asignatura de Microbiología Industrial, que ahora gracias a los avances tecnológicos y curriculares, cambi a la denominación de Biotecnología. Este libro no solo pretende apoyar su labor docente, sino también, ofrecer a los estudiantes, investigadores y a la comunidad académica en general, una ayuda en la búsqueda de nuevas y mejores aplicaciones de los recursos biológicos a través de las innovaciones que la Biotecnología permite. Es por lo anterior, que el presente documento podrá ser utilizado por estudiantes y profesionales de las ciencias biológicas aplicadas (ciencias farmacéuticas, microbiología, bioquímica, ingeniería y tecnología de alimentos, agronomía, procesos industriales, entre otras), con buenos fundamentos teóricos y metodológicos de bioquímica, genética y microbiología."
