| Summary, etc. | El cáncer de cérvix sigue siendo un serio problema de salud pública a nivel mundial, el cual, según los estudios, se incrementará en los próximos años, por lo que se deben fortalecer las estrategias de tamizaje para detectarlo oportunamente (20). A diferencia del cáncer cérvix, en el cáncer de mama no suele presentarse lesiones precancerosas visibles, por lo que su hallazgo suele ser en etapas avanzadas. La detección oportuna se considera la mejor estrategia a elección para reducir la morbilidad, mortalidad y aumento de la supervivencia a largo plazo (21). La Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) reconoce a la detección temprana como una estrategia de salud pública esencial en el control del cáncer de mama y cérvix a nivel mundial, promoviendo su incorporación por parte de los países para hacer frente a la alta carga de enfermedad asociada. |
