Summary, etc. En los últimos años, el movimiento social de mujeres en Colombia ha alertado sobre el aumento de los feminicidios en el país. Mediante formas diversas de visibilizarían y denuncia, el movimiento ha buscado romper con la cultura del silencio, sensibilizar la opinión pública e impactar el clima de tolerancia social e institucional hacia todas las formas de violencias ejercidas contra las mujeres, de las cuales la más extrema es el asesinato de una mujer por el hecho de serlo. Este ejercicio contrasta con el incipiente liderazgo de las instituciones del Estado, que aún no han logrado responder de manera adecuada a tales expresiones de violencia a pesar de las obligaciones contempladas en materia de prevención, atención y sanción, recogidas tanto en el ordenamiento interno como en tratados y convenciones internacionales ratificadas por el Estado colombiano.
