| Summary, etc. | Este trabajo, se desarrolla en base a la necesidad de hacer una revisión de los diferentes biomateriales de uso dental, que se han ido creando y modificando atreves de la historia para buscar un fin en común, que es una buena relación de naturalidad con el paciente. Los antecedentes históricos de los biomateriales dentales y sus aplicaciones son pocos, a pesar de que la práctica de la odontología se remonta a miles de años atrás. No fue hasta el siglo XIX que se desarrollan las grandes familias de polímeros, y el siglo XX en que empieza su aplicación con fines médicos (1). La mayoría de las rehabilitaciones dentales, se realizan con la base de la funcionalidad y la estética, pero esta última; en esta época. Ha generado mayor interés en los pacientes y dedicación de los odontólogos y laboratoristas dentales. |
