Aunque el SARS-CoV-2 presenta una tasa de mortalidad inferior a la del síndrome respiratorio agudo severo (SARS) y el síndrome respiratorio de Oriente Medio (MERS), su largo período de incubación y menor virulencia han facilitado la existencia de numerosos portadores asintomáticos, incrementando considerablemente la tasa de infección"
