| Summary, etc. | "La asociación entre tuberculosis y diabetes es un problema de salud pública a nivel mundial. Los pacientes que padecen ambas condiciones tienen mayor riesgo de mortalidad. En un adulto sano expuesto a una cantidad baja de bacterias, la inflamación granulomatosa detiene la infección antes de que se produzca una afectación pulmonar. Sin embargo, en pacientes con enfermedades como la diabetes la infección por tuberculosis es rápidamente progresiva causando intervalo de supervivencia más corto debido a la afectación del sistema inmunolgico." |
