Summary, etc. El maltrato infantil es una de las formas mas relevante de violencia intrafamiliar, sobre todo por las consecuencias que tiene para el menor, tanto en el corto como en el largo plazo. Objetivo: Determinar los conocimientos y practicas de los cuidadores sobre el maltrato infantil en tres barrios de Cartagena durante el primer semestre de2017. Materiales y metodos: Estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo y de corte transversal. La poblacion fue de 831 cuidadores de niños en hogares que habitan en: Crespo sector Aeropuerto, Torices sector Papayal, y Nazareno sector Gaitana. Muestra de 263 cuidadores (error:5%, confianza:95%)
