Summary, etc. En los últimos años se está haciendo uso extensivo de representaciones gráficas de la estructura del conocimiento adquirido o por adquirir, que comunican la estructura conceptual de un dominio (tema) al incluir las ideas fundamentales y sus respectivas interrelaciones. Estas representaciones toman diferentes denominaciones tales como: mapas conceptuales (Novak y Gowin), Webs (Cleland), mapas mentales (Buzan), mapas del conocimiento (Dansereau), organizadores gráficos (Barron), mapas de ideas (Armbruster, Anderson), mapas cognitivos (Diekhoff), etc. La difusión y gran aceptación de los mapas conceptuales y algunas otras técnicas, ha hecho que no se preste la debida atención a otras formas de representación del conocimiento que pueden tener la misma efectividad y aceptación. La presente obra describe directamente diversas formas de representación en términos de sus características, elementos y componentes a través de ejemplos.
