| Summary, etc. | El objetivo de la serie desarrollo para todos es poner a disposición de formadores de opinión, dirigentes públicos y privados, estudiantes y académicos, los resultados y discusiones en torno a tópicos clave de la agenda actual de los países en desarrollo en los foros multilaterales: globalización, desigualdad, integración económica, empleo, comercio internacional y proteccionismo, pensiones y clima de inversión, entre otros. Todos los materiales han sido escritos y presentados para permitir que personas no expertas en el tema puedan leerlos fácilmente, aunque tiene como base los más complejos y recientes informes e investigaciones tanto del Banco Mundial como del BID. América Latina ha tenido gran éxito con sus reformas a la seguridad social, teniendo como resultado una sostenibilidad fiscal incrementada, una cantidad sustancial de ahorros canalizados al sector financiero, y una mejora en la equidad social de las prestaciones de seguridad social. A pesar de estos éxitos notables, ha habido también desilusiones significativas. La principal de ellas es el fracaso en extender el acceso a la seguridad social a u segmento mas amplio de la sociedad. En este libro accesible e intuitivo, los autores estan a favor de aumentar la atencion que se presta a la prevención de la pobreza social, considerando las reformas se seguridad social en la región, midiendolas contra sus beneficios promedios. |
