Summary, etc. El periodista alemán Sebastián Haffner, que ha huido de las atrocidades del nazismo, escribe desde la precariedad del exilio un certero retrato de la Alemania hitleriana. Con una prosa afilada y combativa, indaga en las luces y las sombras del pensamiento político alemán, denuncia las imposturas ideológicas del régimen nazi y desenmascara sus engaños, para demostrara que no se puede identificar a Alemania con el nazismo y que los ciudadanos alemanes fueron los primeros en ser sometidos por yugo de Hitler. Pero Haffner no solo denuncia el régimen de terror totalitario que reina en su país natal, sino que, además, propone estrategias políticas y propagandísticas a los aliados para combatir el imperialismo nazi y luchar por un nuevo orden europeo que devuelva el viejo continente se tradición civilizada liberar. Escrito en pleno apogeo de la pesadilla hitleriana y publicado por vez primera en Inglaterra en 1940, este libro de desbordante lucidez es un alegato contra la barbarie nazi y una sagaz indagación en las raíces del mal y de la locura elevados a categoría política.
